These Scholarship Terms govern the application, selection, and administration of scholarship programs offered by NaijaAssets. They apply to all scholarship applicants, recipients, and participants in scholarship-related competitions or initiatives.

1. Definitions
Capitalized terms used in these Scholarship Terms have the meanings set forth in the Terms of Service unless otherwise defined below.
"Scholarship" means a financial award, discount, grant, or other benefit granted to an eligible Student to support their education on the Platform.
"Scholarship Program" means any specific scholarship initiative operated by NaijaAssets, which may include academic scholarships, merit awards, competitions, community initiatives, partner-funded scholarships, referral scholarships, and other programs.
"Selection Criteria" means the criteria established for a particular Scholarship Program, which may include academic performance, merit, financial need, competition results, community involvement, or other factors determined by NaijaAssets.
2. Scholarship Programs
2.1 Program Descriptions
NaijaAssets may offer various Scholarship Programs. Each program will have its own specific terms, which will be published at the time of application. Current and future Scholarship Programs may include:
- Academic scholarships based on performance or achievement
- Merit awards recognizing exceptional talent or contribution
- Competitions with scholarship prizes
- Community initiatives supporting educational access
- Partner-funded scholarships sponsored by third-party organizations
- Referral scholarships for referring qualified applicants
2.2 Program-Specific Terms
Each Scholarship Program may have additional terms, conditions, eligibility requirements, and deadlines. In the event of a conflict between these Scholarship Terms and program-specific terms, the program-specific terms govern for that particular program.
3. Eligibility
3.1 General Eligibility
Eligibility requirements vary by Scholarship Program and will be specified in program materials. General requirements may include:
- Active registration on the Platform
- Age, grade, or academic level requirements
- Residency or nationality requirements
- Enrollment in specified Subscriptions or courses
- Compliance with Platform policies
3.2 Verification
Applicants must provide accurate and verifiable information. NaijaAssets reserves the right to verify eligibility, academic status, and any information provided in applications.
3.3 Ineligibility
The following individuals are generally ineligible unless otherwise specified:
- Employees, contractors, and affiliates of NaijaAssets
- Immediate family members of NaijaAssets personnel
- Individuals in restricted jurisdictions
- Individuals who have previously been suspended or terminated from the Platform
4. Application Process
4.1 Application Submission
Applications must be submitted through the designated process by the specified deadline. Late or incomplete applications may not be considered.
4.2 Application Materials
Depending on the Scholarship Program, required materials may include:
- Personal and academic information
- Essays, written statements, or personal narratives
- Videos, presentations, or creative submissions
- Academic records, transcripts, or certificates
- Letters of recommendation or references
- Projects, portfolios, or work samples
- Financial information (where applicable)
4.3 No Application Guarantee
Submission of an application does not guarantee consideration, award, or any response beyond standard acknowledgment.
5. Selection and Award
5.1 Selection Criteria
Scholarship recipients are selected based on the published Selection Criteria. Selection decisions are made at the sole discretion of NaijaAssets or the designated selection committee.
5.2 Selection Process
The selection process may involve:
- Initial screening and eligibility verification
- Review and evaluation by a selection panel
- Interviews or assessments (where applicable)
- Final approval by NaijaAssets or authorized representatives
5.3 Selection Discretion
NaijaAssets retains full discretion in selecting recipients, determining award amounts, and imposing conditions. Selection decisions are final and binding, unless otherwise stated.
5.4 Right Not to Award
NaijaAssets reserves the right not to award any Scholarship in a given program if no applicant meets the Selection Criteria or if the program is modified or discontinued.
6. Scholarship Terms and Conditions
6.1 Award Terms
Scholarship awards are subject to the specific terms communicated to the recipient. Terms may include:
- Award amount and payment schedule
- Duration of the Scholarship
- Ongoing eligibility requirements (e.g., maintaining grades, continued enrollment)
- Limitations on use or application of funds
6.2 Acceptance
Scholarship recipients must accept the award within the specified timeframe. Failure to accept may result in forfeiture and reallocation to another applicant.
6.3 Non-Transferability
Scholarships are personal to the recipient and may not be transferred, assigned, sold, or exchanged.
6.4 No Cash Equivalents
Unless otherwise stated, Scholarships are applied to Platform Subscriptions or services and are not redeemable for cash.
7. Modification and Discontinuation
7.1 Program Changes
NaijaAssets may modify, suspend, or discontinue any Scholarship Program at any time, with or without notice, subject to applicable law.
7.2 Award Changes
We may modify, reduce, or terminate individual Scholarship awards if circumstances change, including but not limited to:
- Changes in the recipient's eligibility or enrollment status
- Violation of Platform policies or scholarship terms
- Changes to the Scholarship Program
- Error or misrepresentation in the application
- Fraud, abuse, or misconduct
8. Taxes
Scholarship recipients are solely responsible for understanding and paying any applicable taxes on Scholarship awards. NaijaAssets may be required to report Scholarship awards to tax authorities. Recipients may be required to provide tax information and complete applicable forms.
9. Prohibited Conduct
The following conduct is prohibited in connection with Scholarship Programs:
- Submitting false, misleading, or fraudulent application information
- Plagiarizing application materials
- Colluding with others to manipulate selection outcomes
- Offering or accepting bribes or improper incentives
- Using automated tools to submit applications
- Violating program-specific rules or eligibility requirements
10. Termination
10.1 Termination by Recipient
Scholarship recipients may decline or withdraw from a Scholarship at any time.
10.2 Termination by NaijaAssets
NaijaAssets may terminate or revoke a Scholarship award if:
- The recipient violates these Scholarship Terms or Platform policies
- The recipient provides false or misleading information
- The recipient fails to meet ongoing eligibility requirements
- The Scholarship Program is modified or discontinued
- Fraud, abuse, or misconduct is discovered
10.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination or revocation, any remaining Scholarship benefits are forfeited. NaijaAssets may seek recovery of amounts already disbursed in cases of fraud or misrepresentation.
11. Disclaimers
SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS ARE PROVIDED AT THE DISCRETION OF NAIJAASSETS. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THE AVAILABILITY, CONTINUITY, OR AMOUNT OF ANY SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM. SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS DO NOT CONSTITUTE EDUCATIONAL, FINANCIAL, OR CAREER ADVICE. RECEIPT OF A SCHOLARSHIP DOES NOT GUARANTEE ADMISSION TO ANY EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION, EMPLOYMENT, OR ACADEMIC SUCCESS.
12. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NAIJAASSETS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS, DAMAGE, OR DISAPPOINTMENT ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS, INCLUDING NON-SELECTION, AWARD MODIFICATION, OR PROGRAM DISCONTINUATION. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE SCHOLARSHIP TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100) OR THE AMOUNT OF THE SCHOLARSHIP AWARD, WHICHEVER IS LESS.
13. Governing Law
13.1 Pre-Incorporation
Prior to incorporation, these Scholarship Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Mexico, United States of America, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
13.2 Post-Incorporation
Upon incorporation, these Scholarship Terms shall be governed by the laws of the Company's state of incorporation, which is expected to be the State of New Mexico.
13.3 Consumer Protections
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer protection rights you may have under applicable law.
14. Dispute Resolution
14.1 Informal Resolution
Before initiating any formal dispute, you agree to contact us at legal@legal.naijaassets.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for a period of sixty (60) days.
14.2 Binding Arbitration
If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Scholarship Terms or the Platform shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by JAMS under its Streamlined Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that you may assert claims in small claims court if the claims qualify. The arbitration shall be conducted in English by a single arbitrator in New Mexico.
14.3 Class Action Waiver
YOU AND NAIJAASSETS AGREE THAT EACH MAY BRING CLAIMS AGAINST THE OTHER ONLY IN ITS INDIVIDUAL CAPACITY AND NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY PURPORTED CLASS ACTION, REPRESENTATIVE ACTION, OR CONSOLIDATED PROCEEDING. IF THIS CLASS ACTION WAIVER IS HELD UNENFORCEABLE, THE ENTIRE DISPUTE RESOLUTION PROVISION SHALL BE SEVERABLE.

These Scholarship Terms should be read in conjunction with:

- Acceptable Use Policy - Prohibited conduct
- User Generated Content Policy - Licensing of application materials
16. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Scholarship Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on the Platform. Changes to specific Scholarship Programs will be communicated to affected applicants and recipients where practicable.
