Document Purpose
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") establishes the rules and standards for using the NaijaAssets Platform. It applies to all Users, including Students, Parents, Teachers, Affiliates, and any other individuals or entities accessing the Platform. This AUP supplements our Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

1. Prohibited Conduct
You may not use the Platform to engage in, facilitate, or promote any of the following:
1.1 Illegal Activities
Any activity that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law, regulation, or governmental order, including but not limited to export control and economic sanctions laws administered by the United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
1.2 Harmful Conduct
- Harassing, threatening, intimidating, or abusing any person or group
- Stalking, doxxing, or invading another person's privacy
- Promoting violence, self-harm, or illegal behavior
- Discriminating against individuals or groups based on nationality, religion, gender, race, ethnicity, disability, language, or any other protected characteristic
1.3 Infringement
Uploading, sharing, or distributing Content that infringes intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or other proprietary rights of any person or entity.
1.4 Malicious Activities
- Uploading or transmitting viruses, malware, ransomware, Trojan horses, worms, or any other malicious code
- Attempting to disrupt, disable, or impair the Platform or its infrastructure
- Launching denial-of-service attacks or similar disruptive activities
- Engaging in phishing, social engineering, or credential theft
2. Content Standards
2.1 Prohibited Content
You may not submit, post, or share Content that:
- Is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, indecent, or offensive
- Depicts or promotes child exploitation or abuse imagery
- Incites hatred, terrorism, or violence
- Contains false, misleading, or deceptive information
- Impersonates any person, entity, or organization
- Violates any applicable law or regulation
2.2 Educational Misconduct
- Submitting plagiarized work as your own
- Using the Platform or AI Features to cheat on exams or assessments
- Misrepresenting your identity, academic credentials, or qualifications
- Submitting AI-generated content without appropriate attribution where required by educational standards
2.3 Scholarship and Competition Integrity
- Submitting false or misleading information in scholarship applications or competition entries
- Colluding with others to unfairly influence selection outcomes
- Submitting content that violates program-specific terms
3. Account and Security Violations
3.1 Unauthorized Access
- Accessing or attempting to access accounts, systems, or data that you are not authorized to access
- Bypassing authentication, security measures, or access controls
- Sharing account credentials or allowing others to use your account without authorization
- Using another person's account without permission
3.2 Circumvention
- Attempting to circumvent Subscription restrictions, payment requirements, or access limitations
- Manipulating or falsifying API requests, client-side data, or system inputs
- Reverse engineering, decompiling, or disassembling any portion of the Platform
- Removing or altering copyright notices, trademark attributions, or proprietary markings
4. Automated Access and Scraping
4.1 Prohibited Automation
Unless expressly authorized in writing, you may not:
- Use robots, crawlers, scrapers, spiders, or other automated tools to access, collect, or extract data from the Platform
- Use automated scripts to create accounts, submit Content, or perform transactions
- Interfere with or impose an unreasonable burden on the Platform's infrastructure
4.2 API Restrictions
Where APIs are provided, you must comply with all rate limits, usage restrictions, and API terms. You may not use APIs in a manner that exceeds authorized access or violates applicable policies.
5. AI Feature Misuse
5.1 Prohibited AI Interactions
You may not:
- Use AI Features to generate harmful, abusive, or illegal content
- Attempt to manipulate AI Features to bypass safety guardrails or content filters
- Use AI Features to impersonate others without authorization
- Use AI Features to generate spam, deceptive content, or disinformation
- Submit personal or sensitive information of third parties through AI Features without appropriate consent
5.2 No Reverse Engineering
You may not attempt to reverse engineer, extract model weights, replicate, or repurpose AI Features for use outside the Platform without express written authorization.
6. Fraud and Deception
6.1 Financial Fraud
- Using stolen, unauthorized, or fraudulent payment methods
- Requesting chargebacks, refunds, or payment reversals without a valid legal basis
- Manipulating referral, affiliate, or rewards systems
- Engaging in self-referrals or artificial inflation of affiliate metrics
- Submitting false information to obtain scholarships, rewards, or financial benefits
6.2 Identity Fraud
- Creating fake accounts or misrepresenting your identity
- Providing false information during account registration or verification
- Assuming a false identity for fraudulent or deceptive purposes
7. Reporting Violations
7.1 How to Report
If you become aware of any violation of this AUP, please report it to legal@legal.naijaassets.com or through any reporting mechanisms available on the Platform.
7.2 What to Include
When reporting, please include:
- A description of the violation
- The location or account information related to the violation
- Any evidence or documentation supporting your report
- Your contact information (optional if you wish to remain anonymous)
7.3 Good Faith Reporting
We encourage good faith reporting of potential violations. Knowingly submitting false or malicious reports may itself be a violation of this AUP.
8. Enforcement
8.1 Investigation
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP, including reviewing account activity, Content, communications, and usage patterns.
8.2 Consequences
Violations of this AUP may result in any or all of the following actions, as determined in our sole discretion:
- Warning or notification
- Content removal or modification
- Suspension or termination of your account
- Forfeiture of commissions, rewards, scholarships, or other benefits
- Reporting to law enforcement or regulatory authorities
- Legal action, including claims for damages
8.3 No Obligation
We are under no obligation to monitor the Platform for violations of this AUP. However, we reserve the right to take action when violations are discovered or reported.

10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time. Changes will be posted on the Platform with an updated "Last Updated" date. By continuing to use the Platform after changes take effect, you accept the updated policy.
