1. Definitions

Capitalized terms used in this Parental Consent Policy have the meanings set forth in the Terms of Service unless otherwise defined below.

The Parent will be informed of:

  • The types of Personal Information collected from the Child
  • How the information will be used, disclosed, and stored
  • The Parent's rights regarding the Child's information
  • How to revoke consent and request deletion of the Child's information

4.3 Consent Record

We will maintain records of Verifiable Parental Consent as required by applicable law.

5. Parental Rights

5.1 Rights of Parents

Parents have the following rights regarding their Child's account and Personal Information:

  • Review their Child's Personal Information held by NaijaAssets
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Request deletion of their Child's Personal Information
  • Refuse further collection or use of their Child's information
  • Revoke consent at any time
  • Request that their Child's account be suspended or terminated

5.2 Exercising Rights

To exercise parental rights, please contact us at legal@legal.naijaassets.com with:

  • Your name and relationship to the Child
  • Your Child's account information
  • The specific right(s) you wish to exercise
  • Documentation verifying your identity and parental authority

5.3 Response

We will respond to parental requests within the timeframe required by applicable law, or within a reasonable period if no specific timeframe is prescribed.

6. Verification

6.1 Parent Verification

We may take reasonable steps to verify that the person providing consent is the Child's Parent or Legal Guardian. Verification methods may vary depending on the sensitivity of the information and legal requirements.

6.2 Identity Verification

We may request documentation to verify the Parent's identity and legal authority. Such documentation will be used solely for verification purposes and will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

7. Revocation of Consent

7.1 Right to Revoke

A Parent may revoke their consent at any time. Revocation of consent will result in:

  • Termination of the Child's ability to use Platform features that require the processing of Personal Information
  • Deletion of the Child's Personal Information, subject to legal retention requirements
  • Closure or restriction of the Child's account as appropriate

7.2 Effect of Revocation

Following revocation, the Child may no longer be able to access certain features or benefits of the Platform. Revocation does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before revocation.

7.3 Process

To revoke consent, Parents should contact legal@legal.naijaassets.com with their Child's account information and a clear statement of revocation.

8. Data Handling

8.1 Collection and Use

Personal Information collected from Children is used only for the purposes described in our Privacy Policy and the consent provided by the Parent. We do not use Children's Personal Information for behavioral advertising or marketing without parental consent.

8.2 Disclosure

We do not disclose Children's Personal Information to third parties except as necessary to provide the Platform, as required by law, or as authorized by the Parent.

8.3 Retention

Children's Personal Information is retained only for as long as necessary to provide the Platform services and comply with legal obligations. When consent is revoked or the information is no longer needed, it will be deleted in accordance with our data retention practices.

8.4 Security
