1. Definitions

Capitalized terms used in this AI Usage Policy have the meanings set forth in the Terms of Service unless otherwise defined below.

"AI Features" means artificial intelligence capabilities available on the Platform, including but not limited to AI Tutors, AI Whiteboards, AI Voice, AI Vision, AI Homework, AI Assessments, AI Agents, AI-generated content, learning recommendations, adaptive learning, automated grading, and any future AI-based functionality.

"AI Output" means any content, information, response, recommendation, or material generated by AI Features.

"AI Models" means the machine learning models, algorithms, and systems powering AI Features, which may include proprietary models and third-party models.

2. Scope

This AI Usage Policy applies to all Users who interact with AI Features on the Platform, including Students, Teachers, Parents, and any other authorized users. It supplements the Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, and Community Guidelines.

NaijaAssets is an AI-first education platform. AI Features are a core component of the Platform and are designed to enhance learning through intelligent, adaptive, and personalized educational tools.

Current and future AI Features may include:

  • AI Whiteboards for interactive visual learning
  • AI Voice for conversational learning and language practice
  • AI Vision for analyzing images, documents, and visual content
  • AI Homework assistance and problem-solving guidance
  • AI Assessments and automated grading

3.2 AI Changes

AI Features evolve continuously. We may update, modify, replace, add, or discontinue AI Features, AI Models, or AI-powered functionality at any time without prior notice.

4. Nature of AI Outputs

4.1 AI Limitations

AI Features, despite their capabilities, have inherent limitations:

  • AI may generate incorrect, inaccurate, or misleading information
  • AI may hallucinate, fabricate facts, or produce nonsensical outputs

AI Outputs do not constitute professional advice in any field, including but not limited to legal, medical, financial, or academic counseling. You should independently verify AI Outputs before relying on them for important decisions.

4.3 Educational Supplement

AI Features are designed as supplements to, not replacements for, human instruction, critical thinking, and independent study. They are tools to support learning, not substitutes for educational effort.

5. Responsible Use

5.1 Verification

Users are encouraged to verify AI Outputs using multiple sources, particularly for high-stakes academic work, exam preparation, and important decisions.

5.2 Academic Integrity

  • AI Features should be used as learning aids, not as a means to cheat or circumvent academic requirements
  • Where educational institutions or Teachers have specific policies regarding AI use, you must comply with those policies
  • Submitting AI-generated content as your own original work without attribution may violate academic integrity standards

5.3 Appropriate Interactions

  • Interact with AI Features respectfully; abusive, harmful, or inappropriate inputs may result in restricted access
  • Provide clear and appropriate inputs to receive the most useful AI Outputs
  • Report AI Outputs that appear harmful, inappropriate, or concerning

6. Prohibited AI Use

6.1 Prohibited Inputs

You may not submit through AI Features:

  • Personal information of third parties without appropriate consent
  • Harmful, abusive, harassing, or threatening content
  • Content that violates any applicable law or regulation
  • Malicious code, instructions for harmful activities, or dangerous information
  • Content intended to manipulate, deceive, or defraud others
  • Copyrighted material you do not have permission to use

6.2 Prohibited Interactions

You may not:

  • Attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent AI safety guardrails, content filters, or usage restrictions
  • Attempt to extract, replicate, reverse engineer, or copy AI Models or their underlying technology
  • Use AI Features to create competing products or services
  • Use AI Features for high-stakes decision-making without human review
  • Use AI Features to generate spam, disinformation, or deceptive content
  • Use AI Features to impersonate individuals or entities without authorization
  • Use AI Features to conduct benchmarking, competitive analysis, or testing designed to replicate, measure, or evaluate the performance of the Platform's AI systems without our prior written consent
  • Use AI Features to automate harmful activities at scale

6.3 Commercial Use Restrictions

Unless expressly authorized, you may not use AI Features to generate content for commercial purposes outside the Platform, including selling AI-generated materials or incorporating AI Outputs into commercial products.

7. Privacy and AI

7.1 Data Processing

Your interactions with AI Features, including inputs and outputs, may be processed to provide, improve, and develop our AI Models and Services, subject to our Privacy Policy.

7.2 Privacy Protections

We implement technical and organizational measures to protect your data in connection with AI Features. Please see our Privacy Policy for information about how we handle Personal Information.

7.3 Confidential Information

You should not submit confidential, proprietary, or sensitive information through AI Features unless necessary for the educational purpose and appropriate under applicable data protection laws.

8. AI Content Ownership

8.1 Your Rights

You retain ownership of your original inputs to AI Features. Your submission of content to AI Features is subject to the license grants set forth in the Terms of Service.

8.2 Platform Rights

NaijaAssets retains all rights in the AI Features, AI Models, and AI-generated content that constitutes part of the Platform's proprietary technology.

8.3 AI Outputs

To the extent permitted by applicable law, NaijaAssets does not claim ownership over AI Outputs generated in response to your inputs. However, you acknowledge that AI Outputs may be similar or identical to outputs generated for other users, and you do not have exclusive rights to any particular AI Output.

9. Availability and Changes

9.1 No Guarantee of Availability

AI Features may not be available at all times, in all regions, or for all Subscription tiers. AI Features may require an active Subscription and internet connectivity.

9.2 Modifications

We reserve the right to modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue any AI Feature at any time without liability.

9.3 Third-Party Models

AI Features may incorporate or rely on third-party AI models, APIs, or services. Your use of AI Features is subject to any applicable third-party terms.

10. Disclaimer

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, AI FEATURES AND AI OUTPUTS ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. NAIJAASSETS DISCLAIMS ALL LIABILITY FOR AI OUTPUTS, INCLUDING THEIR ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, RELIABILITY, APPROPRIATENESS, AND COMPLIANCE WITH EDUCATIONAL STANDARDS.
